Sonny worked as an auto mechanic at Bateman Tire and Auto in Jacksonville. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Jolene Jenkins McDaniel; and stepson, Randy Bolt. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Jenkins of Jacksonville; sister, Sonja Thompson and husband Clint; stepchildren, Rhonda Franks, Kellie Fowler, Crystal Fowler, Chasity Fowler, Robin McManus; his lil buddy, Jarrod “Perow” Bolt; step grandchildren, Ashley Bolt, Jacob Bolt, Lacie Bolt, Brianna Bolt, Brandon Bolt, Shawn Franks, and Destinie Franks; nieces, Tabitha Jo Elliott and husband Royce, Tammy Jo Jenkins; nephew, Jerry Turner and wife Toya; aunt and uncle, T.A. and Geraldine Jenkins; and several other nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Wayne Wolf, Jerry Turner, Ernest Con-away, Michael Lindsey, Dannie McDaniel, and Michael Cartwright. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Elliott, Clint Thompson, and Jacob Ellis. Visitation will begin on Sunday, May 17, 2015, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
