L.J. Darlene Payne (10/03/1939 – 09/25/2019)

Darlene Payne born October 3, 1939 to C.J. and Alice Payne, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in Bullard. She was 79 years old. A funeral service is scheduled at 2 o’clock in the afternoon Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville. Rev. Kermit Tandberg will officiate. Darlene will be laid to rest at Earle’s Chapel Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Visitation will begin on Saturday, September 28, 2019 and friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 5 to 7 o’clock in the evening at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Darlene worked for Marja’s Brassiere Company in Jacksonville and was an LVN. She also worked and retired from Shell Oil. Darlene was a member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Ralph E. and C.L. Payne. Left to cherish her memory are her son, John Lafitte Payne of Canada; and siblings, John B. Payne and wife Linda of Jacksonville and Sandy Tandberg and husband Kermit of Corinth; and dear friend of 51 years, Margie Wurm. She is also survived by a grandson, John Tyler Payne; nieces and nephews: Penny LuAnn Payne, Corbett Don Moreno, Valerie Payne, Nathan Tandberg, Sarah Belisle, John Corbett Payne, Charlaine Hurt and Scott Higgins; and a caregiver, Colleen Farris.

Pallbearers are Chris Clark, Nathan Tandberg, Matt Rogers, Ben Rogers, Steven Langston, and John Corbett Payne.

Rather than customary condolences, Darlene requested that donations of dog or cat food be made to your local shelter.
